Tips:
When buying, look for small, tightly-wrapped coils that are bright green.
Some fiddlehead ferns will come covered in their thin brown casing, which you can rub off with your fingers before cleaning.
Fiddlehead ferns can have quite a bit of dirt trapped in their curl, so place them in a large bowl of water and unfurl them slightly as you rub them to remove any residual dirt.
DO NOT eat Fiddlehead Ferns raw as they can carry cause food-borne illness and upset stomachs.
