Tips:

  • Alfalfa is high in plant compounds called phytoestrogens, which are chemically similar to the hormone Estrogen, so exercise caution if pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • When buying, look for sprouts that have bright green tops, firmly attached to their crisp white stems.

  • They are very easy to grow at home in mason jars, just soak the sprouts, draining them and repeat the process until the sprouts are the desired size.
