Tips:

  • When buying, choose okra that is small and firm.

  • To prepare Okra, wash and dry thoroughly and remove the top stems.

  • To avoid Okra’s slimy texture you can do two things: make sure not to open the Okra pod and cook the vegetable on high heat.

  • Once Okra is chopped it will release its juice which is a great thickening agent, making chopped Okra perfect for soups and stews.
